Who are we?

With over 60 years of history, OMV Yachting and Mercurio Saint-Tropez are now two major pillars of yachting in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
These two companies—each rooted in its family heritage—have helped make the Gulf one of the most iconic nautical destinations in the Mediterranean. Their merger in 2019 gave rise to a unique network, combining technical expertise, commercial excellence, and a privileged presence in the port of Saint-Tropez.

The beginnings of OMV: a pioneer in yachting in a booming gulf

The early 1960s marked a decisive period for Saint-Tropez. Glamour exploded: Brigitte Bardot, Les Caves du Roy, Le Byblos, the first gleaming yachts moored at the quay of honor...

It was in this bustling context that the Organisation Motonautique Varoise (OMV) was founded in Grimaud, at 319 route des Blaquières.
From the outset, OMV became a key player in local nautical development:
  • maintenance yard,
  • winter storage,
  • sale of Bénéteau, Arcoa, and Neptune boats,
  • technical services for the first owners in Port Grimaud.
Thanks to its strategic position, OMV grew at the same pace as recreational boating in the region and built a solid reputation among boaters in Saint-Tropez.

The arrival of the De Keyser family: the modernization of OMV

In 2004, OMV was acquired by Gustaaf “Staaf” De Keyser, a Belgian entrepreneur who fell in love with the south of France.
With no initial experience in the nautical industry but equipped with a keen business sense, he transformed OMV into a modern, high-performing company with a strong focus on excellence.

Today, OMV is:
  • 140 private boats managed, up to 60 feet
  • a team of 25 seasonal employees
  • 16 experienced mechanics
  • more than 1,200 annual maintenance operations
  • a predominantly international clientele, including a large Belgian community
  • a premium position in the sale, maintenance, and rental of high-end boats
Under his leadership, OMV has partnered with prestigious shipyards: Solaris Power, Cranchi, De Antonio, Pirelli, and more recently Santasevera Yachts, the future star of the Gulf.

Mercurio Saint-Tropez : a legendary story at the heart of the port

Long before their merger, Mercurio Saint-Tropez had also made its mark on the region's nautical history.
Based in the port of Saint-Tropez for decades, Mercurio became an iconic address thanks to its houseboat, a veritable showcase moored alongside visiting yachts.
Mercurio was:
An iconic family business, founded by Antoine Mercurio, a key figure in the port of Saint-Tropez since the 1960s. Born in 1930 in Mostaganem (Algeria), he arrived on the French Riviera after independence and quickly built a reputation as an outstanding yacht broker.
A pioneer of yachting in Saint-Tropez: in 1962-63, with his brother, he imported the first Rivas from Italy, which were then unavailable anywhere else. They first created Mercurio Frères, then the famous company Sportmer, which became the undisputed benchmark for luxury runabouts in the port.
A passionate legacy, carried on by Antoine Mercurio himself, a model collector and true boat lover, who had created a small private museum dedicated to naval history.
A reputation forged by a life dedicated to sailing: Antoine Mercurio, who passed away at the age of 87, leaves behind an indelible mark on the maritime history of Saint-Tropez.

Today, Mercurio Saint-Tropez is entering a new phase in its history. Under new management, the company is continuing its legacy while accelerating its modernization and strengthening its premium positioning in the port of Saint-Tropez.
The team, composed of experienced captains, an attentive pontoon operator, and a versatile secretary, forms a passionate, motivated group entirely dedicated to serving boaters.
The structure has recently been transformed thanks to several major developments:
  • a new elegant office installed on the iconic houseboat,
  • a new logo with modern lines, reflecting Mercurio's renewal,
  • a luxury terrace, offering a luxurious and comfortable reception area,
  • a personalized welcome, where each customer is received with care, attention, and consideration.
Whether it's for a rental, boarding, assistance, or simple information, visitors enjoy a tailor-made, professional, and warm service.
Mercurio thus continues to bring its legendary history to life while asserting a more modern, elegant identity that is resolutely focused on the customer experience.

2019: the meeting of two institutions

In 2019, Omv Yachting acquired Mercurio Saint-Tropez. This natural merger brings together two companies that share the same values: tradition, service, customer focus, expertise, and a passion for boating.
